2015 was the inaugural year for a brand new car. The new lightweight Geoff Jones Motorsport built B13 Subaru Impreza performed faultlessly all year, with the Team frequently setting Top Ten stage times, finishing the season inside the Top Ten overall!
Richard and co-driver Carl Williamson rounded off their 2015 season with a superb Class Win on the final event, the ultra fast Mewla Rally in Mid Wales. Earlier in the year, a 13th overall finish on the demanding Manx Rally was quite exceptional. (An incredible recovery, as a small issue during the first days stages dropped the team to 78th place overnight).
2016 began with a new partner: racinglines.com - a top quality provider of fluid transfer systems, for road, race and rally applications. Additionally, the lightweight Impreza had a fresh GT Motorsports engine installed, built by ex-Prodrive guru Graham Sweet. This resulted in a giant killing 7th overall result and a Class Win on the notoriously unforgiving Manx Rally, with Richard and Carl almost 3 minutes ahead of their nearest rival.
The MSA Asphalt Rally Championship 2016 consists of 7 rounds using the most demanding asphalt roads this country has to offer, from Wales to Dublin, to the Isle of Man. Televised on Motors TV, footage is also available on YouTube with Clews Rallying own HD in car footage.
